provides two editions of training
aids for the Gloria RV589 by
A. Vivaldi,
so as to best match the score edition used by the choir. Both the
editions are derived from the public domain editions #846-857
and #860-871 available
at CPDL. Then
Edition 1 is
checked against the version by Casella published by Ricordi (ISMN
M-041-33130-0), while
Edition 2 is checked against the version by Malipiero also published by
Ricordi (nr. 131415). The vocal parts
of the two editions differ for the following details.
Gloria
Tenor, bar 43:
the only note is B in Edition 2, while it is C# (tied with the C# at
bar 42) in Edition 1.
Et in terra pax hominibus
All voices: in
Edition 1 five measures around bar 40 are skipped. Lyrics and the
duration of some notes before and after the "cut" are slightly adjusted.
Soprano, bar 59 in
Edition 2, 54 in Edition 1: the first note is F# in Edition 2, F
natural in Edition 1.
Tenor, bar
89 in Edition 2, 84 in Edition 1: the only note is F# in Edition
2, G in Edition 1.
